Technical

I applied and got invited to the first round interview. It was all technical, no behavioral questions. After I answered every technical question, the questions kept getting harder and harder, but I still answered more than 90% right. I was told I would hear back from HR about progressing. Never got an email from them, very unprofessional since I took the time to interview.

Behavioral Other

I interviewed for an associate position in Spring 2020. The interview was a video call on a Monday at 8:30am San Francisco time. The hiring manager seemed a bit unprepared, mentioning it was early, and yawned a few times. They had a collegiate personality. During the hour-long interview, the HM interrupted the conversation twice for phone calls. Towards the end, they left the video call for personal reasons. I had to repeat myself a couple of times due to this. My final question was about protections and programs for underrepresented minorities and LGBTQ employees. The HM misunderstood, stating FTP doesn't have affirmative action programs like other banks and discussed how a social media company has to interview a quota of minorities. I tried to steer the conversation back to inclusion and culture, but had to repeat myself again. The HM's response felt offensive as it shifted the focus from inclusion to affirmative action, which wasn't my intent. Based on FTP's LinkedIn, there's a lack of visible diversity.
