So I'm a recent grad trying to find a job. The hiring manager started off by saying my resume wasn't impressive, which I already knew, but I was confused why he decided to talk to me. Then he went on to criticize how I answered his questions. He was really hard to talk to and I felt awkward during our 10-15 minute chat, which was basically him just lecturing me. If he had been nicer, I would have actually liked his advice, but I felt like I was being cyberbullied by him. It was a really strange experience.

It started with a phone interview with the director of Sales Development. Then, I was given an assignment to complete before the in-person interview. I was surprised to find out I needed to dedicate about 1-2 days to it. The assignment involved finding 3 real accounts and 5 real names for each. While I like the idea of an assignment, I think 1-2 of each would be sufficient to gauge a candidate's approach. I completed it well, as per the F2F feedback. However, assigning such a time-consuming task so early, especially with no follow-up communication, felt off. I did follow up twice after the F2F.

The first thing was a 30-minute phone screen with the hiring manager. After that, I had a 30-minute video call with a director where they asked questions very similar to the initial phone screen. The next step, if everything went well, was a video assignment and then a 2-hour video interview (it would usually be in person, but was remote due to COVID-19). The 2-hour interview was broken into 30-minute blocks. The first block was with an AE and included role plays. The second block was a more casual peer review with an SDR. The third block involved reviewing the video assignment with an SDR. The final block was with the hiring manager again to discuss how I thought the interview went. If that was good, the final step was a follow-up video call with the hiring manager and director to receive an offer.
