The whole thing took about a month, with 6 interviews in total. I only got this far because of multiple referrals, but then they told me I was too qualified. It felt like such a waste of my time and theirs for them to not offer me the job for this reason. They said they picked someone with less experience because they wanted a different background, which I don't get at all... but honestly, they could have figured that out in the first week.

So I went through this interview process that was pretty wild, like, at least 7 interviews and a project. I actually bailed when they asked for the project because they weren't upfront about the whole interview flow, so it felt kinda outta the blue. But they called me back and asked me to reconsider and do the project, so I did. I presented it, got good feedback from the leaders, and then like a week later, they told me they were moving in a different direction. After that, the recruiter called, totally surprised I didn't get it (we'd already talked about salary and stuff) and then asked me for advice on finding the right person for the job. It was pretty insulting, honestly, almost funny. I met some cool people though, so I'm kinda glad I didn't get the job. They definitely need to get their internal stuff sorted and communicate their long interview process better. All just growing pains from getting bigger, I'm sure they'll figure it out.

I applied through their website and a recruiter reached out. We had a quick phone call to go over my experience and the role at Figs. Then there were 5 rounds of interviews, including a take-home project. The interviews felt repetitive, and the hardest part was presenting to the directors. Honestly, I didn't get a great vibe from the company because they wasted my time with so many interviews. Plus, everyone I spoke to had only been there for 1 to 7 months, which is a major red flag. After seeing the Glassdoor reviews, I got more skeptical, especially with the fake reviews and others mentioning high turnover. It's also disappointing and ironic that a company serving medical professionals doesn't seem to take COVID seriously. The whole thing dragged on for over 3 months – the process was just way too long and draining.

FIGS' hiring process was super fast, like from the first interview to the offer was only 2 weeks! It was smooth sailing all the way. There were 4 interviews total plus an initial recruiter chat. They kept me in the loop and always got back to me quickly. I felt like they really cared about me as a candidate, and the whole thing felt professional and respectful. If you like things to move quickly and be clear, you should totally apply to FIGS.
