Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Figma.
Recruiting Manager
I went through 6 interviews, with a two-week wait for their winter break between stages. Then, I got a templated rejection email at 6 PM EST with no feedback. When I asked, they said it wasn't their policy to give feedback at that stage. I can't believe they'd do that after six 45-minute interviews. I requested my data under GDPR, but the recruiter had the privacy officer tell me they couldn't share it because feedback isn't linked to an individual to protect their assessment processes. It was a terrible experience, not worth the effort.

Senior Recruiter
I had an interview with the Talent Manager for a Senior Recruiter role in London. Honestly, the whole process felt pointless. The Talent Manager seemed uninterested and mentioned they'd already decided on someone after seeing other candidates. They apparently kept interviewing me just to make the experience better for everyone.

Recruiter
The interview process was the best I've experienced! First, a recruiter calls for a phone screen. Then, the hiring manager interviews you over the phone. If that goes well, you're invited for an onsite interview with the team and have lunch to meet others, which is a more casual way to show your true self. The final round is with the CEO, who is very humble and down-to-earth. This last interview focuses on company culture and values. Be sure to research the company and prepare your questions. After the interview, the recruiter let me know when the team would meet and that they'd get back to me right after. It was a very straightforward process with no mind games, ghosting, or candidates being strung along. Tip: don't be boring! Show excitement and interest in the product. Research your interviewers and ask good, personalized questions, not generic ones you found online. Show confidence (but not arrogance). Authenticity is key!
