The initial recruiter was friendly, but the hiring manager at Fifth Third seemed disengaged. The recruiter was pushing for a decision on proceeding, but the hiring manager didn't respond and eventually the recruiter just gave up. It was a pretty laid-back process.

Applied in late September and got a recruiter call about two weeks later. The first scheduled phone interview day didn't happen, so the HR rep rescheduled and called on the next interview day. The HR rep wasn't technical, so avoid lots of tech jargon. She was also typing my replies, so I made sure to speak accordingly. She mostly asked about personal experiences and a couple of work scenarios, like dealing with difficult people, handling big changes, and resolving obstacles. The phone call went well, and an onsite interview was scheduled then and there. The onsite interview took place in November 2019 with about 30 other candidates. It started with a brief introduction, followed by two 30-minute interviews that were entirely behavioral and non-technical. Afterwards, there was a 30-minute group discussion before we went to a restaurant. We were told offers would be extended the following week. I got a missed call from the recruiter the following Friday at 6 pm with a voicemail asking me to call back for interview feedback and an update. I assumed I didn't get the offer because the call was so late and she probably didn't plan to talk long. The recruiter called back on Monday, and I received the job offer. The start date was set for June 2020, requiring two drug tests before then, each with a 48-hour window to complete. Due to COVID, the second drug test didn't have the 48-hour limit. Overall, it was a pleasant process compared to other banks. The recruiter was always available and usually replied within 24 hours.

Applied online March 10th. Recruiter called me within two weeks. The hiring manager phone interview was about a week after that since I was long distance. Fifth Third flew me out for a 2 hour interview with 4 people, spending about half an hour with each. Then there was an extensive background check including drug test, fingerprints, education verification, employment history and work verification. I accepted the offer and started May 9th. HR was good with communication. The starting salary was good. Relocation wasn't paid. Parking downtown was expensive. My boss and team seem good.
