Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Field & Stream Shop.
Sales Associate
There were 2 interviews that happened back to back over 2 days. The first interview was with one Manager, and the second interview was with the store manager. They asked many different questions. The interview was laid back, and the managers were very personable.
- In a situation where you have conflict with another associate, how would you handle it?
- Can you name the three types of firearms?
- Which firearm is your favorite?
Sales Associate
The interview process was very structured, with questions coming from a corporate form. They seemed more interested in my outdoor experiences than my previous work history. The manager was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I learned during the interview that it was a part-time position, not full-time, which I wish I had known beforehand. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I was offered a second interview. I would consider working there part-time if it fits with my current full-time job schedule.
- Can you share a significant outdoor experience that was a turning point in your life?
Sales Associate
It was a 1:1 interview process, with both rounds happening back-to-back. It was pretty laid back and overall very easy. One manager, likely your department manager, will interview you. The store manager will make the actual offer, though.
- Which is larger, a .357 or .38 caliber firearm?
- Given an arrow is hitting high and to the right, what adjustment do you make to the sights?
