It was a 2 stage process. First round was with the Hiring Manager and a lead engineer where we talked about my experience and they asked some technical questions. Second round was with some engineers where I had to do a coding exercise related to fetching and displaying data in an app.

So first, I had a screen call with a recruiter, which was super chill and easy. They mentioned the next step was gonna be a behavioural and technical interview. But, surprise! It ended up being just one interview that combined both. They hit me with about 15 behavioural questions, which felt like a lot. Then came the technical part, where they asked about my resume, gave me two really basic SQL questions (like summing up profit per user and a simple select), and threw in a puzzle that wasn't too tough.

Behavioral Technical

Got a recruiter call where they asked me some basic stuff and then passed my resume to the hiring manager. A few days later, the recruiter called back and said the hiring manager wanted to interview me the same day. I got there early for my 2:00 pm interview, but then got a message less than 10 minutes before saying the hiring manager hadn't confirmed and they had to cancel. I was already there, so they called the hiring manager and got a last-minute confirmation. It was frustrating but I went in. I was still early for my 2:00 pm interview, but the hiring manager was over an hour late, on a call. It was pretty unprofessional by the time he finally showed up around 3:15 pm. The interview itself was about 15 minutes, with easy and relevant questions. They said HR would contact me within a week, but I never heard back even after 4 weeks. Some people I know got hired and also never heard anything, not even a rejection. So, overall a negative experience due to the cancellation, the hiring manager's lateness, and the lack of follow-up.

So I had originally applied for a different job, but the recruiter reached out about a new opening he thought I'd be great for. I said yes to hearing more. After a quick call with him, they ran a credit check on me, had me do a typing test, and then an in-person interview the next week. I got an offer that same afternoon and accepted. Before I could start, I had to complete a full background check and a drug test, which took about two weeks to clear. But I'm working there now and really glad I took that initial call!
