After clearing all rounds, it seemed like they kept delaying to hire someone at a lower cost. I was upfront about my salary expectations in the very first screening call. There were 3 rounds in total: one technical, one managerial, and one HR round. The HR round was mostly about salary, where the recruiter broke down their proposed compensation, which we had already touched upon in the initial screening. They said they needed 2-3 business days for approval from higher management to send the offer. But, 2-3 weeks went by with no offer. When I followed up, the recruiter said the position was put on hold, which they never told me. Another couple of weeks later, the recruiter called to see if I was still interested and mentioned a new role might be coming up. It's pretty wild, right?

The interview was super chill and easy, not really structured. Nobody seemed to be taking notes, just typical Google questions. They weren't great listeners, kept cutting me off and weren't interested in my detailed answers. As someone who's hired people before, the most important thing is for the interviewer to actually listen to the answer to the question they asked. The communication from the talent team was bad and dishonest; I had to chase them multiple times for updates. The interviewers didn't seem prepared to run a professional interview, they weren't clear about what they were looking for and gave really vague answers to my questions. I was expecting a polished, professional experience, but instead, I encountered ignorance, maybe arrogance, and disorganized amateurs.

Got contacted by an agency first, which was good. The phone interview with HR was the next day and lasted about 30 minutes. They called back within 2 hours to set up the next stage, which was a 2-hour in-person meeting with the Director to go over my CV and background. I got another call within 2 hours to schedule the next interview 3 days later. This one was with the Senior Director, seemed like a final approval, and lasted an hour. They called within an hour after that to say an offer would be sent. I got the offer via email within 24 hours and started a week later.
