Technical Behavioral Case

So the interview started with a phone screen, then there was this three-part in-person thing. The in-person interviews were with three different people: one guy talked Financial/Economics/Technical stuff, another one asked the usual HR questions, and the last one was a case interview using Excel. It was a pretty thorough process, more than what you usually see, but I guess that's how it is in smaller consulting places. It was tough but the interviewers were cool.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

So I had like two HR interviews first, then they invited me for an in-person thing that took up half my day. It was one hour of behavioral, one hour of technical stuff, and one hour for a case study. The questions were pretty standard, and they really focus on your resume, so make sure you know the technical skills listed there. The case study was a bit confusing at first, but once they actually explained what they were looking for after I asked a bunch of times, it was pretty straightforward using pivot tables and vlookup. Definitely try to get that clarification early, 'cause that hour flies by. After that, they took me to lunch with two analysts where we just chatted. They said I'd hear back in two weeks to two months. Deloitte contacted me later that day to set up an initial HR interview, and I got an offer about a week after that, which I took.

Behavioral Technical Case

I had a phone screen then spent half a day in the office. The office visit included a "fit" interview, a technical interview, and a case study. The technical interviewer was unprofessional, seeming to think I was dishonest and spending the hour trying to trick me. I expected the role to be Excel-focused, as indicated by earlier interviews, but the technical interviewer focused only on SQL and finance/economics questions. It's concerning that someone in leadership acted this way. Given that interview, I'm not sure I would have wanted to proceed.
