I applied online and heard back from an HR rep via email about a week later. We had a 20-minute phone call, and she was really nice and said she'd pass me on to the office that needed an intern. Then, another HR person sent me the details for an in-person interview that same week. The interview lasted about 50 minutes and I met with a group of people from the team.

I applied online around mid-April. A recruiter from HR in NC got in touch about a week later and set up a phone chat for a few days after that. It went really well. Then they asked me to come in person to DC for another interview. A different HR person, also in NC, sent detailed instructions and directions to the office. I didn't know who I'd be meeting with there though. The interview itself was okay, nothing special. After traveling all the way there for a specific time slot that required me to leave another commitment early and take a cab, I never heard back. No email from the interviewer or the two HR contacts. I sent two follow-up emails over the next week, and still no response. They didn't even send a rejection, which was pretty disappointing.

A team member I connected with at a conference recommended I apply for the summer internship. I sent in my resume and cover letter, then followed up. I was told I'd interview with two team members. They were really nice and one was funny, which helped me relax. The interview itself felt good. Scheduling with HR was tricky though, I had to keep chasing them. They said HR would reach out, but they didn't, so I had to reach out to them. It also seems like they might have used an old resume of mine from a previous application months ago.
