First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at FEV.
Engineer
I applied to FEV because they came to our department to state that they would like to provide internships to us. Then I sent my resume to FEV. Maybe after 1 month, I got an email from them to set up an appointment for a telephone interview. This interview lasted about 30 minutes and all the questions seemed basic. Like, how do you know about FEV? Or something about engine differences...
- Can you tell me about FEV's research focus?
- How much time can you commit to this internship?
Project Engineer
It was an easy and straightforward interview. Some parts were precise, and others were more exploratory. The interviewers were nice to talk to. The phone screen and the face-to-face interview had the same people. They wanted to check my technical insight and how deep my understanding was, and then also assess my leadership ability and thought process.
- Can you understand MATLAB flowcharts?
- What engine testing activities are you familiar with or have you worked on?
- Questions related to the specific job or their team's work.
Project Engineer
First I talked to a recruiter, then I had a TEAMS interview with the hiring manager and another team member. They asked me some technical questions and talked about my background. I got feedback within a week but didn't get the job.
- What about your education and work experience?
- Also, about a specific calibration project you worked on, what went well or bad.
- The manager wanted to know your long-term goals.
