The interview was pretty simple and to the point. They mainly wanted to test my knowledge about propane. The benefits were alright, and there wasn't too much travel involved, but I think the business itself is good. I'd be starting at a lower position, but I expect to move up to be the main driver pretty quickly.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. They asked general questions and talked about the job description. They also gave me an idea of what a typical day looks like to make sure I had realistic expectations. The atmosphere was very friendly.

Applied on their website and the manager contacted me in 3 days. A phone interview was scheduled for a week later. It lasted 20 minutes, which I thought was a good duration. She told me she would get back to me in 2 weeks because she has to interview 40 more candidates, which I thought was nuts since there was only ONE opening. I never received another response from her during and after those 2 weeks. One of her questions did include a minimum salary requirement. It's possible that she didn't want to call me back since my requirement was too high for her, which is the national average salary for a college graduate. After reading the reviews here, I realized that this company has a history of paying quite a low salary, which was 3 weeks later.

Behavioral Technical

I found the job on LinkedIn and a recruiter reached out about a month after I applied. We set up the interview via email, which was pretty chill. Then I interviewed with the department manager on video a few days later. This person was not friendly at all. They seemed irritated from the start and complained about audio issues. When the video first came on, they weren't smiling and didn't say anything. I tried to make the best of it, smiling and saying hi, but they never cheered up. The questions were pretty standard, but the whole vibe was just unwelcoming and cold. A little friendliness would have gone a long way, but it wasn't there. It costs nothing to be nice. After the interview the same day, I sent a nice thank you email. About three weeks later, I still hadn't heard anything, so I emailed the recruiter to ask for an update since they were nicer than the interviewer. The recruiter said the job went to someone internally. So, basically, my time was wasted. My guess is the interviewer already had someone in mind but had to go through the motions for HR. Good for them, bad for job seekers. Definitely won't interview with them again.
