Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fenwick & West.
Summer Associate
I met with an associate for about 20 minutes. They asked me questions about why I wanted to practice tax law and what relevant experience I had. The interviewer was very cold and not easy to converse with.
- Can you tell me why you are interested in practicing tax law?
- What relevant experience do you possess?
Associate
Had two rounds of interviews. The first was with one partner, and the second involved a mix of six to nine partners and associates. This second round was spread over two days, with each interview lasting about 30 minutes. The interviews included a mix of basic 'get to know you' questions and questions about your past matters and how you handled certain issues.
- What's your reason for looking to make a lateral move?
Summer Associate
There was a 30 minute screener, and then five twenty minute interviews for the callback. I spoke with two partners, two associates, and the recruiter. It was a pretty standard interview experience. This was before the on campus interviewing.
- What motivates your interest in Fenwick?
