First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fenwick & West.
Office Administrator
I had a chat with the recruiter, who was very professional. We talked about my background and they shared some info about the company. The call started on time and finished when scheduled.
- Can you describe your experience?
- What knowledge have you gained in your present position?
Intern
The interview was over Zoom with an interviewer in California while I was in Italy. We joked about the time difference since it was midnight for me. The interviewer seemed warm and interested in my past experience.
- Could you describe your most recent internship and outline your responsibilities?
Corporate Lawyer
The interview process had two phone calls. The first was a basic phone screening where they asked about my qualifications and my motivation for the job. The second call was more in-depth, covering my previous work experience, why I'd be a strong fit, questions about corporate culture, and hypothetical moral situations. The interviewer was pleasant, but the response time after the interviews was slow.
- What makes you qualified for this position?
- What are your qualifications for this position?
- Why do you want this job?
Legal Secretary
I had a phone interview with the recruiter, followed by interviews with the administrator. They extended an offer before conducting a reference check. I didn't get to meet the attorneys I would be working with, and they were evasive about my responsibilities and caseload. During both office visits, building security couldn't find my name, and when the concierge tried calling the receptionist, it went straight to voicemail. The firm seemed quite disorganized, so I'm glad I trusted my gut feeling.
- Are you a good team player?
