First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fenox Venture Capital.
Analyst
I applied online and got an email from the Fenox team. After some emails, we set up a phone call. The first 20 minutes were behavioral, and the rest was technical. The questions got harder or easier depending on my answers, to check my VC knowledge. It felt like I was talking to myself since there was little feedback. Two weeks later, I got an offer, but I declined it because it seemed too good to be true. The process felt unprofessional and seemed to be there just to look credible. My research confirmed these issues with other reviews.
- How would you assess a potential portfolio company and its business plan?
Analyst
If your application is selected, a recruiter or hiring manager will contact you via Skype to schedule an interview. The process starts with an introduction to the company, followed by questions about your background, your interest in venture capital, your vision, and your plans for working in the field. It's a casual conversation initially, with more serious questions towards the end.
- What key characteristics do you look for in a startup?
- Can you tell me about your background?
- Why are you interested in venture capital?
Analyst
It was a really thorough and complete interview process. The interviewer was super professional and smart. They explained exactly what was expected at Fenox VC. They asked a lot of questions about Venture Capital basics and finances. They also asked a bunch of behavioral questions. The whole thing felt really approachable and comfortable.
