After being declined for another role, an HR specialist found a new opportunity for me. I spoke with the North Sales Manager and the Regional Sales Manager. Since I had applied before, some initial steps were skipped. The Regional Sales Manager didn't ask many formal questions about the position because it was a new role they were creating. We discussed metrics to understand the workload and my fit. Despite interviewing for over an hour on a very cold day, I was informed three weeks later that I was overqualified. The entire process spanned about a month and a half. Interestingly, I was told I lacked qualifications for a role needing 2-3 years of experience with a High School Diploma or GED, despite having over 10 years of experience and some college. For the second role, requiring 1-2 years of Inside Sales experience, I was also deemed overqualified with nearly a year of relevant experience.
