First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fehr & Peers.
Transportation Engineer
The whole thing was super quick. HR hit me up two days after I applied. They set up a 30-min phone chat about my interest/background in transportation, some tech problems I've dealt with, and how I function in a team. The HR lady was cool and said she'd pass my info along. I heard from the operations person the next day, who was really efficient and set up a 1-hour video interview for the next week. I liked chatting with her and an engineer from the office. They asked more about my background and challenges, similar to the phone screen but with more depth. The day after, they wanted to schedule a final 6-hour interview with everyone at the office. This included a 15-min presentation to the office, followed by a 45-min Q&A (some tough ones). I also chatted with newer employees about starting at Fehr & Peers. There was a values discussion, a technical assessment with a few transportation problems, a technical panel, and a one-on-one with the regional principal. It was a tiring but insightful process, and I really enjoyed talking to everyone. Even though I didn't get an offer because the other candidate had a master's, I learned a lot about F&P and felt excited about the opportunity.

- How do you approach time management?
Transportation Engineer
A recruiter reached out to schedule a phone interview, but we ended up connecting at a different time due to a time zone difference. It was a 30-minute phone screen with some basic questions. After that, I was given a questionnaire similar to what others receive, which I had to complete and submit within a week. I then waited for two months with no updates, even after multiple attempts to contact the HR, who then directed me to another HR representative. There was no response via email or phone, and I never received a rejection letter.
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
Transportation Engineer
The interview was a three rounds. First, HR contacted me for a phone screening which consist of general behavioral questions. The second round interview was a 1 hour phone interview with F&P staff. The final round interview was a 4 hour with office leadership, technical interview ( included a case study), interacting with entry level staff, and a presentation to the whole office. Overall the process took around 1.5 to 2 months.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What draws you to a career in transportation consulting?
