The interview process involved general questions where candidates were expected to elaborate significantly. My own experience led to rejection as I provided concise, to-the-point answers. The interview panel consisted of two individuals. I was questioned about my personal background and academic history.

So for the Associate role at Federal Bank, there are three main parts to the interview process. First, you gotta do an online aptitude test. This test checks your math, reasoning, English, and banking knowledge, plus there's a psychometric part. It's done remotely. If you pass that, you move on to a group discussion (GD). In the GD, they look at how you communicate, work with others, and if you know what's going on in the world. The last step is a personal interview. Here, they ask about you, why you want to work for the bank, if you understand basic banking stuff, and current events. Sometimes they throw in questions about how you'd handle certain situations or customers. It's pretty competitive, and they want to see that you think clearly, are confident, and really want to be in the banking field.

First, they did a shortlisting based on eligibility. Then, I had an aptitude test covering logic, quant, and verbal skills. After that, I had a personal interview that was more about my personality and motivation than technical stuff. They asked why I was interested in Federal Bank instead of a typical tech job since I have a technical background. I explained I like roles with analysis, customer interaction, and business exposure in a good company like Federal Bank. They also asked general HR questions about my background, strengths, and goals to see if I'd fit in and if I was clear about my thinking.
