I applied online and had to take a skills test first. The questions on the test weren't really about the job itself, more like to see if I could follow directions and pay attention. Then, I had a one-on-one interview with the district manager at the store. I wore a suit and felt a bit overdressed, but I'd recommend dressing up anyway. They asked about 10 questions, and I got an offer right after.

After applying online and completing assessments, I got a call for a pre-screening interview within 2-3 days. We set up an interview for the next business day. The atmosphere was calm and casual, with everyone dressed in Fastenal shirts and khakis or black pants. The interview was a 30-minute conversation where I was asked about my past experience and schooling. It seems they might prefer college students over someone with about 15 years of experience, probably because the part-time role didn't have benefits. The interviewer explained what they're looking for and what they offer. The next step would have been an interview with her and the distribution location manager.

There were three interviews in total, each was with a different manager and held at different places. The questions were more about personal stuff than technical knowledge, which made sense for the kind of job.
