I got a call from HR asking basic details. Then the hiring manager called and talked salary before setting up an interview. HR didn't call again. The first 30 min interview was with the hiring manager, who asked around 20 questions. After that, there was a 1.5 hour panel interview where they asked 20-25 questions. They also had a third unofficial call and then confirmed the offer. But a few days later, they sent a rejection.

So, at Fastenal, the interview process is pretty straightforward, it's like three parts. First, you'll chat with HR, just to see if you're qualified and if you'd fit in. Then, you'll talk to the hiring manager, and they'll want to know about your technical skills and if you're a good match for what they need. The last bit is a panel interview with the manager and someone else from the team, where they check out how you work with others and tackle problems.
