First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fastenal.
Intern
We scheduled a time for the interview, and it was held online via Teams with the manager. They asked various questions and were very friendly, making me feel comfortable. The discussion covered my experience and my knowledge of the company.
- Tell me about your experience.
- What do you know about our company?
- What is your educational background?
Intern
It was a detailed interview, covering experience questions, with a focus on leadership qualities. Expect to answer basic interview questions and discuss your knowledge of the company. Make sure to carefully review the job description and inquire about the next steps. The overall interview went really well and gave me a good understanding of the job.
- Can you share your sales experience?
- What about your customer service background?
- Could you describe your leadership experiences?
Intern
A standard 2-3 step interview process. I met with the District Manager and other General Managers. Each meeting was at a different Fastenal store in Portland. The first meeting was formal, and the second was more of a casual, conversational meeting.
- Can you tell me about your experience in construction and sales?
