Implementation Consultant
It was a multi-stage interview process. First, there was a brief interview with some fundamental technical questions. Following that, there was a more extensive interview that included brain teasers and behavioral questions. The whole thing lasted about a month.
- Could you tell me about the different types of loops?
DevOps Engineer
A staffing firm reached out about a job. I seemed to fit their criteria and had the right certs. Then I had an interview with someone from HR who didn't seem to know much about the job or maybe the staffing firm got it wrong. The HR person's version of the job wasn't what the staffing firm advertised. Strangely, they really focused on my cybersecurity experience and acted like it disqualified me for the AWS role.
- What was your motivation for studying cybersecurity?
Implementation Consultant
First, I got a packet with about 25 logic questions and a coding problem on the back, and I had 30 minutes to do it. Then, they asked some OOP questions, but mostly behavioral questions and went through my resume. They also asked about my willingness to relocate, which was a strong factor. Lastly, I had time to ask them questions.
- Regarding a getPrime() method, can you write code to find the first 100 prime numbers?
- How would you implement the getPrime() method itself?
- What are some ways to optimize the code you've written?
Implementation Consultant
The interview process was really nice. Recruiters took me out to dinner and got to know me, basically treating me very nicely. Then, they asked me to come for a more formal interview the next day. I attended and they asked me more professional-oriented questions.
- They ask you basic programming problems and then give you an IQ test.
- Short, fun questions and the test will take about 30 minutes.
- The programming questions are easy too, just come a little prepared with general knowledge.
