Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Farmers Insurance Group.
Insurance Agent
The interview process was quite thorough, involving several calls. They provided a comprehensive overview of the onboarding and training programs, as well as the financial commitments associated with starting your own agency. A personality assessment was also administered to gauge how well you'd fit with the company culture.
- Can you tell me about your previous sales experience and your accomplishments?
Insurance Agent
The process was pretty smooth, involving several stages. First, there was a sorting stage, then a preliminary interview, followed by an in-person interview. After that, they followed up on the hiring process if you passed the previous stages. I think it's pretty easy if you've done it before.
- What is your earliest availability to start?
Insurance Agent
They start with a quick phone call to ask some basic stuff about you. If you seem alright, they'll set up an in-person meeting. There, they'll give you a short talk about the company and how this particular office operates. Then, they'll ask you a bit about your past and what kind of work environment you like. It's pretty easy to get through this interview, even without much experience. They're mostly just looking for folks who are keen on this kind of different job and will take pretty much anyone, though they do favor those with business or sales backgrounds. Just show you've got some drive and act professionally.
- Have you got any prior sales experience?
- How long have you lived around here and do you know a lot of people in the area?
- Would you rather be compensated based on your performance or receive a standard payment regardless of how hard you worked?
