First there was a screening call with the hiring manager, then a technical round over the phone, followed by an onsite interview with several rounds. The onsite included systems design, problem solving, and coding. For the data science role, the coding was pretty simple, but the other problem-solving tasks were quite complex, really testing modeling fundamentals and practical system considerations.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a really long process, they made me go through a huge amount of interviews for a company that's not even public yet. Some of the interviews were really awkward. The senior leaders asked me really specific questions about problems I've solved, which felt more like they were trying to get free consulting work out of me to solve problems with my own data instead of talking about the role. It was like that 'Silicon Valley' episode where they got the Pied Piper folks to explain their tech so they could steal it. It seems like the leadership here got their positions through nepotism from a previous company, so it'll be impossible to make any changes if you disagree with them. Also, some of their opinions seem really old-fashioned. So, not getting an offer wasn't a big deal. But dragging out an interview process for a month, making me do 6 or 7 interviews, including one when I was on vacation, and then not even sending a rejection email shows a serious lack of professionalism.

The interview started with a recruiter call, which went well. Then I had a technical interview with a main engineer where I was asked to solve a real work problem. I did well and passed. The onsite interview had multiple interviewers. The same engineer from the technical round was there again. He asked for details about all my past employers and managers' full names. He also asked why I left each job. After the panel interview, the recruiter said things looked good and I might hear good news soon. However, a few days later, I was told they weren't proceeding without any feedback, which felt like a waste of my time. They asked for manager names which is unusual unless an offer is certain. Reference checks are usually done after interviews with references I provide. This was unprofessional and I wouldn't interview with them again.

Got a call from FBN to start the interview process. Had a brief initial chat, then a short follow-up with the same HR person. After that, I moved into a sales pitch role-play, which was quite intense and required good company knowledge. There were two role-play interviews: the first with HR, the second with a manager. I did well enough to advance. The final interview was a Google Hangouts call with two managers and two sales development reps, lasting about an hour. I thought I did great, but after a week, they called to say they weren't moving forward. Honestly, it felt misleading, but I guess I wasn't the right fit.
