Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Faraday Future.
Software Developer
The interview process includes 4–5 rounds depending on the team. There are 4 technical rounds and 1 HR round. The first three rounds focus heavily on problem-solving skills, technical depth, and system-design discussions.
- Tell me about your experience with Node.js.
- Can you describe your SQL skills and any complex queries you've written?
- How have you used React in your previous projects?
Software Engineer
I applied and got contacted about a month later for a phone interview. On the day, we used Cisco WebEx. There were 3 other people on the line, which was a bit weird. They asked me to rate my Python comfort on a scale of 1-10 and talk about my project work. They also asked about REST and the difference between MySQL and NoSQL. The interview was awkward due to bad reception and felt one-sided, like they were just testing me rather than getting to know me. They also didn't follow up when they said they would.
- What are the four operations in REST?
- Which REST operation is safe?
- Can you tell me the difference between MySQL and NoSQL?
Software Engineer
I applied online and a recruiter emailed me pretty quickly to set up a Skype interview. Two engineers then reached out and we talked about my past experience. The interviewers were cool and seemed really into their jobs. Since it's a startup, I guess it wasn't a shock that they seemed super swamped. After we finished, I sent a thank you email but never heard back from the recruiter, which I thought was kinda unprofessional.
- What makes you want to join our company?
- What's your understanding of Faraday Future?
- How would you handle being asked to take two-week trips to China with only 72 hours' notice?
