Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fannie Mae.
Manager
First, I had a brief 1-on-1 chat with another manager. Then, I went through a panel interview with three future colleagues and my boss, who's a director. During the panel, we did a portfolio review where I presented my past work and explained my methods. They asked me questions and also gave me an overview of their team's work and the role's responsibilities.
- How would you get executives on board with and championing a novel approach that deviates from current company practices?
Senior Manager
The HR process is well-established and managed, though not especially fast. The interviews are low-pressure and focus on human behavior and teamwork abilities.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
Change Management
It was a 3-part interview. First two were case interviews, and after each, we debriefed. The last interview was more of a Q&A, and then they gave me an overview of the business and his team.
- Can you describe your thought process?
- What was your experience with the case interview?
- What are your greatest strengths?
