Lead Associate
So there were 3 rounds of technical interviews and then 1 round of behavioral. My impression was that if you do well, it moves fast. The first interview was a screen to see if you'd move on. It was with a Tech lead, maybe not from the hiring team, and lasted an hour. The second was super technical with a principal engineer, focusing on architecture/design, especially AWS. The following week, two interviews happened back-to-back for two hours. The third was another Q&A, very technical. They stick to a list of questions and answers. The fourth was behavioral, mostly asking about situations.
- Tell me about AWS lambda.
- Can you explain AWS kinesis?
- What do you know about AWS RDS?

The hiring process was pretty standard, although the questions asked felt a bit outdated. All the interviewers were great and had awesome personalities. The interviews were conversational and behavioral. I really thought I would get an offer because of the good impression I made, but I was very disappointed when the recruiter told me I didn't get the role, especially after hearing the reason why. I suspect they already had someone picked and just wasted my time. But after some thought, I realized if it was meant to be, I would have gotten the offer. I feel like bigger and better things are coming my way. I definitely won't be applying here again.
- Describe a time you faced a challenge at work and how you handled it.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully persuaded someone or a group at your workplace?

So, like, I got brought on at Fannie Mae as a contractor a while back, and then eventually became a full-time employee. My first interview when I was a contractor was over the phone, and there were two people on the call with me. It felt pretty long. After that, the same two people interviewed me in person, like, at the same time. They decided to hire me super fast, like only two days from the phone interview to getting the offer. (Of course, you gotta factor in time for signing up with the agency and all that paperwork.)
- I don't remember the hardest question I was asked.
