Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Accounts Assistant
The interview process was straightforward. After submitting my resume, I got a call for an interview. From what I understand, the department's direct manager had interviewed for this role before.
- Are you willing to perform mundane, labor-intensive tasks as part of your daily duties?
Payroll Analyst
So first there was a pre-screen phone interview with HR and she set up an in-person interview with me for the end of the pre-screen. That in-person was actually 3 separate interviews: one with HR, then the assistant manager, and the director of finance. They asked the same questions in all three, which I thought was a bit redundant, maybe a panel interview would've been better. A week later, HR called again to set up another interview with their corporate director of labor management, but I had already gotten another offer by then and turned it down.
- What motivates your interest in our company?
- Can you share an overview of yourself and your background?
- Describe your approach to prioritizing tasks.
Accountant
Applied online, did a personality test, then the department manager called me in for an interview. The whole thing took about two hours. HR got in touch the next day.
- Tell me about your personality.
- How can your past experience be useful for this job?
