I interviewed for a performance tester role in Cork, Ireland. There were 3 interview rounds. After the interviews, HR mentioned that everything was positive from their side but they needed to finish the process for other candidates. A few weeks later, after I followed up, they told me they had hired someone else. They said that if you're not going to hire, don't give false hopes. They should be clear if a candidate is just on the shortlist. They should also stop collecting information to solve their own problems. It seemed like typical non-technical management hiring for technical roles.

I chatted with the test hiring manager. They were really keen to get me in for an on-site interview with the team the following week because another company I was interviewing with was moving fast. I expected to hear back from recruiting quickly to schedule the on-site, but I never did. A week later, I called the recruiter and was informed the manager was 'considering me.' The recruiter never followed up with me after that. It was a pretty rough experience.
