It was a very casual interview, not much pressure. The manager skipped a lot of the usual questions. I was contacted by phone about an assistant manager position, but upon arrival, I was a bit let down to find out it was actually for a part-time role with less pay and no benefits. I'm not sure if that was intentional.

Behavioral Other

I learned about the assistant manager role through a friend and submitted an application in person at the store. I was contacted for an interview very shortly after, maybe a day or two. Given my prior retail experience of a few years, the interview felt pretty typical for this kind of job. The store manager conducted the interview and was really nice, which helped me relax. It felt more like a casual chat to get to know each other rather than a high-pressure situation where I had to impress them.

I applied online and then came into the store to let them know I had applied. They reached out later that week for an interview with the store manager, and I received an offer. They asked typical questions about my strengths and weaknesses, sales, and customer service.
