First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at F.N.B. Corporation.
Accounting Intern
I had one interview via Teams. They asked some basic accounting questions like what's on a balance sheet and income statement, and also HR questions like talk about a time you worked in a team, and we did a resume overview. It went really well and my interviewer was super helpful.
- What items are typically found on a balance sheet?
- Can you list the components of an income statement?
- Describe an instance where you collaborated effectively within a team.
Marketing
I had a quick phone call with HR first. Then, I had a one-hour Zoom meeting with the hiring manager. It seemed to go really well, and they explained the next steps: coming in to meet the team and mentioned they'd try to schedule it for the following week. However, after a couple of weeks of silence, I received a generic email saying thanks for applying but they found someone else who was a better fit.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Communications Manager
After applying, I was contacted within two days for a 20-minute phone screening. This initial call provided a lot of information about the job and felt like a conversational Q&A, with about 10 questions asked. Then, I interviewed with the hiring manager for about an hour. She went into more detail about the role, and I had extra time for my questions and to share my experiences. After that, I met the team, which helped me understand the department's dynamic and their emphasis on collaboration. The recruiter was involved throughout, checking in and quickly answering my questions.
- How do you handle feedback or edits on your work?
Compliance Specialist
The interview with the hiring manager at the Chagrin Falls office was a bit different. Their Compliance Department is located in a renovated attic space in an older building. The questions seemed straightforward; I felt like they were assessing if I'd fit into the existing office culture. The recruiter mentioned the Bank is focusing on improving its diversity policies.
- Could you tell me about your relevant training experiences?
- What would be the duration of your commute to this location?
- What is your reason for departing from your present employment?
