First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ExxonMobil.
Mechanical Engineer
The interview process had three stages. First, an online test covering aptitude and mechanical core problems. The mechanical questions were standard difficulty, but the aptitude part was time-consuming. After that, there was a group discussion. The topic given was 'Can introverts be effective leaders?'. Finally, there was an interview which included technical and HR aspects. They used the RICCE framework. It's helpful to be thorough with every point on your CV and understand the mechanical engineering principles behind them.

Mechanical Engineering Intern
This role had two interview rounds. They focused mostly on behavioral questions, asking about my previous resume experience and hypothetical team-related scenarios. Using the STAR method is a good approach for these, and it helps to highlight the impact I made on projects.

Mechanical Engineer
The interview process started with an on-campus interview, and then I had an onsite interview at their Baton Rouge facility. The onsite part included two behavioral interviews and one technical interview. It felt pretty unorganized because the technical interviewer didn't get the question from HR and had to come up with one on the fly. I was expecting to hear about an offer by the end of the day, but it took over two months and several calls, during which they kept saying the interviewers couldn't meet to review my file, before I finally got a rejection email that even had my name misspelled. It was a really bad experience overall.
