The interview was for the Applications Engineer role. The Hiring Manager seemed really into the job and asked about my projects and experience, making it an interactive chat that got me more interested. After that, I had an HR interview with the HR Director, which was surprisingly rough; it felt like being trapped with all the rules and regulations, more like going to prison than applying for an engineering job. That's when I decided this wasn't the place for me and lost interest in her questions. They really need to improve their HR interviews.

It kicked off with a recruiter call for some quick questions. Then, about a week later, I had a phone interview with a manager. Two weeks after that, I spoke with another senior manager over the phone for about 20 minutes. The next week, I went in for an in-person interview. Once I got there, I filled out a formal application and waited an hour before meeting the first person for 20 minutes. We then had lunch with two employees who have been there for 9 and 13 years. After lunch, I waited about an hour for my second interview, which lasted 20 minutes. Then, I had a 30-minute HR interview, followed by a meeting with a senior manager and a brief office tour. The whole thing took 6 hours. Everyone was really nice, though they seemed a bit overworked, which is pretty standard. The place itself felt a little sterile and quiet for an AV company, with no background music or tech displays in the common areas. It was a bit odd, but no offer yet, though I'm really hoping.

Technical Behavioral

It was a two-round interview process. The first was a technical interview for an hour with the head of Production. He asked about my resume, past work, degree, and some Ethernet/network questions from my resume. He was friendly and I passed. The second round was an HR interview. This was a really bad experience, lasting ten-twelve minutes. The interviewer read questions from a paper and wrote down my answers. She was not friendly. She asked 'Why do you like this job?', 'What past work experiences do you have?', 'What do you expect from your co-workers?', etc. I answered, but she kept saying I didn't understand the question, which made me feel like she was testing my patience. It felt like I couldn't speak or understand English at all, which was a weird experience.
