It had a written test with multiple-choice and descriptive questions, followed by an interview with a team dynamic. During the dynamic, the interviewer used selection methods, and I presented myself personally and professionally. I found the selection process practical.

It took about three months for this whole process. I first talked to the current director, then the HR VP. I also met with the incoming CEO, which I asked for, and two senior leaders. There were long gaps with no updates, but they always apologized and asked for more interviews. The comms department is really small and doesn't have much in terms of resources. This makes me wonder if the mission is strategic enough to help the business deal with creating loyalty and unity, especially with the new international company spinning off. They said the energy sector's financial issues would just delay the spinoff and weren't a big threat, even though it hasn't happened yet.

I applied online and a recruiter, who was external but helpful, called me the same day. Within two days, I had an interview scheduled with two people. While on my way, the recruiter called to say there was a change in who I was meeting. At the interview, the manager mistook me for a temporary worker, which we laughed about before starting the interview. The manager was easy to talk to, and the interview went well. After an hour, I met with another person for about 30 minutes. I felt I was a good fit and left feeling positive. The next day, I was asked to be available to speak with someone in Brazil. This person asked for my birth date, hobbies, and the reason I left my last job. Something went wrong at this point, but I don't know what. The recruiter then quickly submitted my resume for a different role within the company. It was a strange experience.
