Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Express.
Intern
It was a pretty straightforward interview process. I had one call with HR and then two virtual interviews with the hiring managers. Unfortunately, the company ended up canceling the internship offer right before it was supposed to start because they filed for bankruptcy. Given that, I'd probably steer clear of this company since they don't seem to be in a good financial spot and might not make it through the current tough retail climate.
- What are your post-graduation plans?
- How do you keep up with industry trends?
- What's your understanding of the brand?
Intern
It was a pretty chill interview experience, just some basic questions about me. The people I talked to were really nice, and there was no pressure. I went through 3 interviews, and although I didn't get an offer, it was still a good process.
- What makes you want to work at Express?
Intern
The interview had two 30 minute sections with two different people. First section was basic questions, second was an overview of the position and responsibilities. It was at the home office in a conference room. They said I'd hear back in a week, but it took two. They emailed me saying they selected another candidate. Everyone was very friendly.
- What value can you bring to the company?
- How do you discover style inspiration?
