Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Express.
Associate
The interview process is pretty easy and takes at least 30 minutes, but if it's a group interview it'll take longer, sometimes up to an hour. They really want to get to know you personally and check out your work ethic. It's cool if you haven't worked retail before, just talk about your experiences and what you'd do in different scenarios.
- What made you decide to apply to Express?
Stock Associate
I was brought into a backroom with two other people for a group interview. We were all given the same questions. I had to go first and it seemed as if the guy who answered after me was pretty much repeating my answers. Pretty straight-forward questions, however I suggest making a list of questions and answers that have to do with customer service experience and dealing with customers.
- Can you recall a specific instance where you delivered outstanding customer service?
Associate
The interview process was quite straightforward and pleasant. All the people I interacted with were very approachable and kind. I was successful in obtaining the position, which I'm pleased about. The entire process typically spans about two to three weeks, which is a reasonable timeframe.
- Could you share what motivated you to apply for this particular role?
