I applied online and they called me that same week. I went in for my first interview, and they called me back that same day for the second interview and a drug screen. The first interview was basic questions to see if I fit what their customer was looking for. They told me about the job. The second interview was with the company.

I went to the office and filled out a lot of paperwork. Then I interviewed with someone who seemed to think I'd be a great fit for the Customer Service Rep role given my 8 years of experience in the industry. I also mentioned my clean background and positive attitude. He said he'd call within 5 days, but it's been over a week with no word. I called and left a voicemail but haven't heard back. It's frustrating because I'm unemployed, spent money on gas to get there, and would appreciate an update on my application status, even if it's a rejection. It's disappointing given they are a staffing agency and this is how they treat potential hires.

I was messaged on LinkedIn by the hiring manager for the Ottawa, IL location about helping me find a customer service position. We scheduled a meeting, and when I got there, his first question was what made me qualified for the job. I was not expecting it to be an interview. We talked for about an hour, and then he asked me to come in the next day for a 4-hour shift to see how I'd fit in. When I arrived, he turned on the computer, logged into job boards and recruiting sites, gave me minimal instructions, and told me to ask the other staff if I had questions. I was supposed to find resumes matching job descriptions and make cold calls. I'm fine with calls and website research, but I struggled with the lack of direction and felt set up to fail. I managed the next four hours, making calls I was uncomfortable with. He told me, 'I want to see if you sink or swim,' and 'Just listen to the other girls and say what they're saying.'
