Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Experian.
Financial Analyst
The interview process had 2 rounds. The first round was a compressed interview with leadership asking rapid fire questions, covering both behavioral and situational work context. The second round was a case study that I received a week before.
- Can you share significant experiences from your previous jobs that showcase your core skills?
Financial Analyst
I was referred by an employee who is also the hiring manager. An HR rep scheduled in person interviews with the Finance manager, 2 Finance Directors, and the VP of Finance. Interviews were different depending on the interviewer. For example, one Finance Director asked really detailed questions about my background and skills, and the other focused more on high-level stuff and personality (integrity, work-ethic, etc.). Each interview was about 30 minutes. It took 2 separate visits to do all the interviews. The last step before the offer was a skills test on Excel and finance modeling. My advice: highlight how your specific job experience fits the role you're applying for.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- What would you say are your biggest strengths and weaknesses?
Financial Analyst
I applied online and the next evening, a recruiter from Experian called to set up a 30-minute phone interview for the following day, which I had on Wednesday. I felt it went pretty well. She mentioned she'd discuss with the managers on Thursday to arrange a time for a phone interview with them and would call me on Friday. However, she didn't call on Friday. So, I followed up with an email on Monday, and she explained the meeting was postponed and rescheduled for that week. On Friday, she finally got back to me, stating they decided to move forward with another candidate. I never even got the chance for the manager phone interview for that role.
- Can you tell me about a challenging situation you encountered and how you dealt with it?
