Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Exotic Metals Forming.
Engineer
You'll start with a phone interview. If that goes well, they'll invite you for an in-person meeting where you'll meet 2-3 senior engineers. They'll chat with you about your resume and background, and then give you a few test questions to see how you approach problems. It's pretty laid-back overall.
- Can you tell me about three significant non-technical aspects of a past project?
- Let's do an exercise on converting rotational movement to translational movement.
Engineer
So I had this first phone interview that lasted about an hour. The recruiter asked me some stuff and then told me about the job and the company. After that, I had the on-site interview. It started with the recruiter giving me a 20-minute math test. The test was pretty easy, like basic stuff they give to everyone. Then I met the head of the department and some other people from the team. It was a good experience overall.
- What are your 5-year career goals?
- What are your 10-year career goals?
Engineer
It was a phone interview with HR. It was very informal and they asked all the basics. Unfortunately, the interviewer couldn't answer some of the questions a future engineer at the company might be looking to know.
- Can you share some of your academic achievements?
