First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EXL Service.
Data Engineer
The interview process had 3 rounds. Round 1 was about past experience and SQL, asking about previous work, my data engineering background, and SQL problems. Round 2 was a hands-on coding test with TypeScript and PySpark. Round 3 was a behavioral interview with senior leadership, focusing on culture and values.
- Can you tell me about your past experiences and how they relate to this role?
- Can you describe your background in data engineering?
- Here's an SQL problem, can you solve it?
Senior Data Engineer
The interview process involved two rounds. The first round was with the Manager, focusing on questions about my current project, SQL (specifically Window Functions), and Python (Stacks). The second round was with the Senior Manager, and it covered SQL (Window Functions with an emphasis on optimal code) and Python (basics, optimal solutions, and scenario-based questions).
- Could you tell me about your current project?
- Can you elaborate on your current project, including the datasets, tools, and technologies used?
Data Engineer
The interview process is good but if you applied one time with one email they won't allow you to re-apply, you can apply after its 6 months only. So think before applying, because they won't accept your profile again.
- Could you answer some technical questions?
- Tell me about yourself.
- Let's look at your code writing.
