The interview was in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, at their production factory which is located 18kms away from the city. After a 30-minute wait, I met with the production HR head for a mini HR interview. They asked basic questions about my family background, educational qualifications, and confirmed my knowledge of what the factory manufactures. I then waited another 30 minutes before the interview with the Production Head. This was a panel interview with three people.

Exide came to ISM Dhanbad campus to hire M.Tech Mechanical students, specializing in manufacturing & MET. The whole process had 3 rounds. First was resume shortlisting based on the usual criteria, like maintaining above 60% marks throughout and having no more than 3 years of gap in studies. They shortlisted 41 students from Mechanical. Then, there was a Group Discussion round where the topic was technical. They presented a problem with a hydraulic press, listing its components and issues like noise and leakage, and we had to discuss and figure out the problems. From this round, 8 students were selected for the interview. The final round was a Personal Interview for those selected from the GD. In the end, they selected 2 students, including me and a batchmate.

The interview process started with a Group Discussion (GD) round. It was case study based, but pretty straightforward, with about 17 people in the group, so it was quite chaotic. Following the GD, there was a Personal Interview (PI) conducted by the GM HR, EVP, and RSM. They were all very cooperative and polite. The questions were mainly about sales, like what value you'd bring, why you chose Exide, why sales specifically, and your career aspirations. They also asked about your job expectations.
