The interview process felt a bit disorganized, like they were still figuring things out. The first round involved a DSA problem, some Java and Spring questions, and a chat about my projects; it felt like a back-and-forth discussion. The second round focused on projects, tech stack, and system design (microservices, multi-tenancy). The interviewer also asked about salary expectations and my last performance rating, which felt very mechanical and rapid-fire. After a few quiet days, there was another technical interview covering projects, tech stack, and system design again (specifically benchmarking and capacity planning). This interviewer was cool and we had a good chat, but it felt like a repeat. The final round was behavioral, and surprisingly, the questions were very basic, like talking to a new grad about family and career choices from way back. I was told I was selected afterwards but never received an offer. They should at least update candidates on the status, even if it's a rejection. Also, it would be helpful to be clear about what to expect in each round.

So I got this recruiter reach out from LinkedIn and they set up the interviews super fast. The interviews were pretty easy and very practical. I got the offer, but then negotiating the salary package turned into a mess. I had another offer that they couldn't match. They gave me their package and tried to tell me their stocks would be worth a lot someday. Since I do want to work for a startup (and my other offer isn't), I asked for more responsibilities to make up for the higher salary I was asking for. They ended up taking back the offer and said we weren't a good fit.

I applied to Exabeam in my last semester of college and got a response in a week. First, I spoke with a recruiter, then the hiring manager. After that, I had two technical phone interviews back-to-back. Next, I was flown out to their HQ for an onsite interview that included 3-4 more technical interviews and a chat with my skip level. Once I got home, I received my offer in under a week and signed a few days later.
