First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at EwingCole.
Senior Project Manager
First, I had a phone chat with an HR person for about 30-45 minutes. Then, I went to the NYC office for a more in-depth, in-person meeting with a principal and a director. Both times, it felt like a friendly and professional vibe.
- What computer programs and software skills do you have?
Designer
I spoke with two architects. They asked about my availability to start, my salary expectations, and my visa status. I was asked to describe my portfolio and they asked some questions about the projects within it. They also asked about my personal interests and for me to introduce myself. Finally, they asked about my knowledge of the industry.
- When can you start working?
Architectural Designer
I had one virtual interview with a Senior Associate & Partner. For a medium-sized firm, their decision-making process is quite scattered, and they interviewed candidates for months without giving any updates. It felt disrespectful of my time. I wouldn't recommend this firm because it might reflect how they treat their employees. Unfortunately, I was rejected due to my immigrant work visa status. International students should probably look elsewhere rather than invest time interviewing with Ewingcole.
- Can you tell us about yourself and your experience?
- What software are you proficient in?
Design Professional
I met someone at the career fair for a philly-based college. So I met a principal there and we hit it off. I later scheduled an interview with HR. It was two interviews. First one was online. The second was in-person. Both were rather easy, and conversational. I had not heard back from second interview though in a couple of weeks while I was in the midst of my finals, so I did reach out again, and they did offer me the job later that day. Apologized for not sending the offer letter in a more timely fashion. Overall, pretty straightforward. I did accept. I tried to negotiate my starting salary though, and was unsuccessful.
