Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Evotec.
Research Assistant
First I had a 30-minute interview with the group leader. We talked about my experience level and how it relates to the position. I discussed myself, my studies, and previous work experience. Then, the leader explained my future responsibilities and related documentation duties. They mentioned a second interview with the whole team and an HR recruiter if I passed the first round.
- Can you tell us about your previous studies and your master thesis project?
- Are you interested in pursuing a PhD?
Research Assistant
I first had a phone interview with one of the group leaders and a few weeks later got invited for an in-person interview. After being welcomed very warmly, the HR representative gave me the opportunity to introduce myself first. Then I talked with one of the group leaders and another employee. We discussed the work in the group and the projects I have worked on so far. Afterwards, I got to speak with two more employees of the group. Then I spoke with another group leader, who also invited me to lunch in the cafeteria. She explained the current projects in her group and possible future projects. A new employee who also belonged to this group was also present. After lunch, I had another conversation with an employee, before two Research Assistants gave me a tour of the building and also told me a bit more about the work atmosphere/daily work routine. A few weeks later, I was invited for another interview, which I declined though, as I had already received another offer by then. I remember the whole interview very positively and although I was naturally nervous, I felt very comfortable most of the time. Evotec covered my travel expenses.
- What makes you want to work at Evotec?
- Could you please tell us something about yourself?
- What are your career goals for the next 5-10 years?
Research Assistant
The interview process had 3 rounds. I spoke with almost every team member, which was a nice discussion. It took a week after I applied to get the first invite. I was then invited for a second interview in a week. HR rounds were included.
- Tell me about challenges you have faced.
- Can you tell me about your past experience?
- How do you approach working with a team?
