Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Evonik.
Process Technician
Had one interview that lasted an hour. We talked about the company, our processes, and typical interview questions. They asked me if I understood what a process tech does. I got an offer about 30 minutes later. It took about a month to get the contract, though, after I completed a medical check-up.
- What makes you want to work in this industry?
Chemical Technician
I applied for a maintenance technician job on Indeed and was called in for a chemical technician interview. I spoke with the Plant Manager, HR Supervisor, and two other people. They were all very polite and professional, and asked questions related to my experience and the job requirements.
- If you could have any job, what would it be?
- Using the provided drawing, explain the LO/TO process and the safety considerations for tank entry.
- What safety issues do you foresee when entering a tank?
Lab Technician
I applied online for a lab intern job and heard back quickly from a recruiter who scheduled a short phone chat. She asked about my interest in the role and then set up an on-site interview for the following week. There, I met with four people, managers and scientists, for about 20 minutes each. They started by asking about my background and then went into typical behavior questions.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Where do you see yourself in five years?
