First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Evonik.
Business Development Manager
I had some initial phone chats with both talent management and the hiring manager. Then, I went through virtual panel interviews with a global, cross-functional team. Right after that, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager. They made an offer a few days later, and we did some negotiating. The offer was good, and I really enjoyed my time with the hiring team, but I took another job that was a better fit for what I'm passionate about and what I'm good at. All in all, it was a really good interview process. I'll definitely keep an eye on Evonik for the future.

Business Development Manager
I was first emailed by a recruiter, then had a phone call with the Hiring Manager. After that, I had a panel interview with 5 executives. I followed up a few times but was told they were 'going with other candidates.' Two years later, a new recruiter reached out to me again on LinkedIn for the same role.
- Can you share an example of a difficult situation you encountered in your career?
Business Development Manager
I applied online and heard back about 3 weeks later about setting up a call. My first interview was a screening call with the hiring manager, where they asked standard questions like 'tell me about yourself', 'why Evonik', 'why this sector', and 'what's exciting'. After passing that, I had an in-person interview with five people: the hiring manager, his boss, a colleague at my level, and two HR representatives.
- What do you anticipate being the greatest difficulty in this role?
