It was a pretty smooth process overall. I spoke with the recruiter, the hiring manager, and then the director. However, I noticed some red flags. They mentioned upfront that working nights, holidays, and weekends might be necessary, but they didn't specify the exact schedule until I received the offer. It turned out to be Sunday through Thursday, 11 am to 8 pm, which I wouldn't have applied for if I had known earlier. I should have asked about the schedule at the beginning, but I just assumed it would be more like standard business hours, especially for a manager role. During the hiring manager interview, something really strange happened. They paused our interview to take a phone call, even though it was only a 30-minute interview and we were halfway through. It was odd that they couldn't wait until it was over. I did get past that stage and met with the Director. That interview seemed okay, but while I was answering a question, the director kept looking down, almost under the desk, like they dropped something. It was pretty distracting. Finally, after getting the offer, they gave me less than two business days to accept. I got the offer on a Wednesday around noon and had to sign by the end of the next day, or they would move on. Since I'm being considered by other companies and these red flags popped up, I declined. I got a pretty clear sense of how things are run there, and it seemed sloppy and not very transparent. I really liked their mission, culture, and the work itself, but the pressure to sign so quickly was a big turn-off. I would have liked to accept, but it became clear it wasn't the right move.

The interview process included an initial phone call with HR, followed by a phone call with the hiring manager. Later, there was a 3-hour Zoom interview with the hiring manager and four other people. I noticed the hiring manager seemed uninterested during the phone call and gave unrelated answers to my questions, even asking leading questions about whether I have children. Communication after that initial call was poor. A project was assigned less than 24 hours before the final Zoom interviews, which may not be a good reflection of the company's typical operations if this is expected during interviews.

There were multiple interviews but the process was clear and recruiting was very helpful. They asked behavioral interview questions and also an assessment to measure skills and abilities for the candidate.
