Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at eVestment.
Client Services Manager
It started with a phone call with HR, where we talked about my resume and how my experience fits the job. Then, I had another phone chat, this time with the hiring manager, focusing on questions about my skills and how I'd handle responsibilities in the role.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered an unforeseen issue and describe your approach to resolving it?
Client Service Analyst
It was a long interview process. First, I did a recorded video interview with three simple questions, mostly to check if I could form sentences. Then, I had a phone interview with my potential direct manager. It was a casual chat about my background, what I wanted in a job, and some company info. After that, I went to the eVestment office for an in-person interview. I expected to talk to maybe three people, but ended up having six interviews with seven interviewers over three hours. The intention behind having so many people was good, but it would have been better for me if I had spoken to all seven at once. Everyone was really nice, and they all asked similar questions about me and my work style. One HR person asked behavioral questions, but the others asked basic ones.
- Which area would you rather focus on: customer interaction or analytics, as this job is transitioning from 50% customer interaction/50% analytics?
- Do you have any questions for me regarding the company's goal to automate analytics and the job becoming 75-85% customer interaction?
Client Service Analyst
Applied online and heard back from a recruiter within a week. She asked for my availability and scheduled a call for 10 AM, which I thought was a bit odd since I'd suggested between 1 and 3. On the day of the call, I left my office to prepare and by 10:15, I still hadn't received a call. I called them, and then she proceeded with the initial interview. The next step was a writing assignment, which I completed that same night. After that, I had a call with a team member, who turned out to be someone different from who I expected. The team member mentioned I should expect to hear back within the week to set up an in-person interview. A week passed with no word, so I reached out to the recruiter but got no response. It's surprising for a company that emphasizes its culture not to have the courtesy to update candidates. My online status showed 'offer-able candidate,' and I found it quite rude they didn't follow up.

- How much experience do you have working with people?
