Store Manager
She belittled my appearance, talked poorly about customers and their bodies, and told me to "fix" my hair, nails, and no makeup so I would be "acceptable" to her boss. If this is how they interview, I can't expect anyone to want to work there.
- Tell me about your experience and if you could run the store solo, with 6 guests in different states of checkout or assistance.
- Is this a trap?
Assistant Store Manager
Applied through Indeed and the Store Manager called me to come in for an interview a few days later. The interview was about 30 minutes long and covered typical management topics, but in a relaxed conversation. Then I got scheduled for another interview with the DM the next week, which was shorter but gave me a lot of info about the job and what they expect. Five days later, the Store Manager called with an offer, and they gave me a bit more money than I asked for.
- Can you estimate the proportion of your workday that involves direct selling?
Assistant Store Manager
I had an hour-long interview with the Store Manager where we talked about my resume and my previous job duties. They mentioned there will be a second interview with the District Manager, and I should hear back in about two weeks. It's been a few days since the interview, and I'm still waiting.
- How do I build relationships with my employees?
- Can you describe your previous job roles and responsibilities?
