It was a multi-stage thing, you know, covering both tech skills and softer skills. First, there was like a screening call, then a technical call where they asked some coding questions and questions to check how deep my understanding goes, and then just some general chats. Everything was done online for me.

They had an online assessment, then a phone interview, and the final round was pretty long, like 5 hours. It was a bit of a bummer 'cause this company, they're not really that special, just a platform for sending data to insurance companies. The last interview with one of the founders was really dull. There was also a team lead who seemed totally checked out, barely spoke after introducing himself. So, they asked me, a new grad, to design a system for sending data to an insurance company in JSON format, so users wouldn't have to fill out forms twice. But instead of talking about the design, the founder was like, "What technologies do you think would best fit our scenario?" Which was weird, like why would the programming language matter for the design? Then he hit me with, "What do we need to worry about when implementing the API?" I mentioned scale, but that wasn't it. He wanted to know about needing the API authentication key from Geico to identify Everquote. Honestly, this company thinks they're hot stuff for reselling user data to insurance companies. I'm actually glad I didn't get hired, the whole experience was pretty bad. Plus, the lack of diversity was obvious, everyone was white.

The interview process was quite lengthy, starting around 10 AM and concluding after 3 PM. The interviewers were accommodating, offering water and breaks, and even provided lunch which included a non-technical Q&A with the team. The technical interviews were one-on-one and conducted rapidly, with a lunch break in between. While the first and third interviews were positive, the second and fourth interviewers frequently interrupted and struggled to explain the problems clearly. Despite this, they were polite. The process ended with a discussion about salary with the recruiter, who also promoted the company.
